ESSENTIAL AVENUE TO GOOD HEALTH
I
am a great believer in detox CLEANSING and CLEANSING DIETS for the
whole body and for specific organs. These different cleanses have
been a big part of my healing, both physically, mentally, and
emotionally. But you need to be WISE and know when to back off
or stop a cleanse to protect the immune system. I see people
all the time who think they need to boldly go the distance with a
cleanse even though they can hardly get out of bed because of
weakness.
Please
remember that No matter what the book says, you need to be
WISE. If you get excessively weak or develop severe cold or
flu like symptoms, you should cut your cleansing short, let your body
recover and then do it again. When it comes to
cleansing, bigger (or longer) is NOT always better.
If
it is done wisely, the benefits of body cleansing and detoxification
can far outweigh the discomforts of the cleanse itself.

What
Is Detoxification?
Detoxification
is the process of clearing toxins from the body and clearing the
excess mucus and congestion. Many of these toxins come from our diet,
drug use, and environmental exposure, both acute and chronic.
Internally, fats, especially oxidized fats and cholesterol, free
radicals, and other irritating molecules act as toxins. Poor
digestion, sluggish and dysfunctional colon, reduced liver function,
and poor elimination through the kidneys, respiratory system, and
skin all add to increased toxicity.
Detoxification
involves dietary and lifestyle changes which reduce the intake of
toxins and improve elimination. Avoidance of chemicals, from
food or other sources such as refined food, sugar, caffeine, alcohol,
tobacco, and many drugs help to minimize the toxic load. Those
lifestyle changes are a direct result of choices you make in your
life.
MASTER
CLEANSE
This
is a 10 day cleanse. I have used this cleanse, but my health
wouldn't allow me to do it for the full 10 days. I have used it
for 3 to 5 days at a time and for ME
that
has been sufficient. I received the desired results and I can
do it once a month if needed. I have many clients who have also
done this cleanse, but again we have found that even 2 or 3 days is
very sufficient. Some of them who have done it for the full 10
days and had good results, but have really suffered extreme fatigue
and headaches, and it took them many weeks to get their digestive

COLON
CLEANSE
One
of the most frequent bowel problems
that people experience today is
constipation.
A constipated system is when the elimination
of the waste material is to slow.
The longer the transit time, the longer the toxic waste matter sits
in our bowel, which allows it to putrefy, ferment and possibly be
reabsorbed into your body. The longer your body is exposed to
putrefying food in your intestines, the greater
the risk of developing disease.
Disease
usually begins with a toxic bowel. Those having fewer bowel movements
are harboring a potentially fertile breeding ground for serious
diseases. Infrequent or poor quality bowel movements over an extended
period of time can be very hazardous to your health.
A
good cleansing program should always begin by removing the waste
in your colon. If you attempt to clean your liver, kidneys,
blood, or lymph system without first addressing a waste-filled bowel,
the excreted toxins will only get recycled back into your body.
All
the refined sugar,
white flour,
hormone and
antibiotic filled meats,
food colorings and
preservatives we
constantly eat, constitutes an assault on our bodies. We are
continuously violating our bodies by eating terrible foods.
When
detoxifying your colon, it is extremely important to that you
incorporate probiotics
in your diet to replenish your intestinal flora.
A
proper colon cleansing
program removes the mucous and waste from the colon. Even a
thin layer of mucous waste weakens the body. Because of stress
and diet, most Americans have many hardened layers of mucous and
waste. A proper colon cleanse and detoxification program
prepares your body for optimal health by removing all of these
layers.
Begin
by changing to a diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables with
very few cooked or processed foods. If that is too hard on your
system to begin with, then lightly steam your vegetables.
Regular and easy elimination will eventually be the rule, toxins will
not build up and foods will be fully digested and utilized.
This optimum nutrition allows rejuvenation and peak vitality.
Of course it was a process over years or decades to get the body so
full of toxic waste, so it will be a process to detox and get your
body back to its highest possible state of health.
"Colon
cleanse", "Bowel Cleanse", "Intestinal Cleanse"
or "Intestinal Therapy" are terms referring to a procedure,
which has as its main goal to have a clean bowel. A real bowel
cleanse can take from 3 to 4 weeks, and up to a few
months, depending on the person. But don't get discouraged, it's
worth it.
Natural
colon cleansing usually means following a colon cleansing diet
along with taking some colon cleansing supplements which may
include herbs which kill parasites and worms, contain digestive
enzymes and probiotics (beneficial bacteria). It will also
contain herbs that stimulates the liver, gallbladder and intestines,
such as psyllium husk or seeds, Cascara Sagrada, or flax seeds, or
slippery elm, among many other herbs which are essential to assist
the cleansing.

A
standard bowel cleanse will include fasting on
water, juices, raw fruits and vegetables.
Salt water enema's are
also used to flush toxins and heal the tissues.
Bentonite
clay and
flaxseeds
assist with the colon cleansing process. Bentonite is a type of
edible clay that acts as a bulk
laxative by
absorbing water to form a gel. It binds
toxins such as
pesticides and helps to carry them out of the colon. Flaxseeds also
absorb water and
expand in the colon,
allowing toxins and mucus to be removed. In addition, flaxseeds have
been found to lower cholesterol levels.
As
part of your colon cleansing program, take 1 tbs. of liquid
bentonite and one tbs. of ground flaxseeds in a glass of
water first thing in the morning (wait at least 1/2 hour before
eating) and before bed. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day or
constipation may result. You should take the bentonite separate
from medications or supplements because it may interfere with
absorption.
GALLBLADDER
CLEANSE
The
gallbladder is a 3-inch long membranous sac attached underneath the
liver. Excess bile, which comes from the liver, is stored in the
gallbladder. The purpose of bile is to break down the fat when it
comes into the digestive area.
Some
Gall Bladder attack symptoms could include some of the
following:
Moderate
to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage
Pain
that radiates through to the back or to the right shoulder
Severe
upper abdominal pain
Nausea,
Queasiness or Vomiting
Gas
and Burping or belching
Attacks
are often at night can occur after overeating
Pain
will often but not always follow a meal with fats or grease
Pain
may be worse with deep inhalation
Attacks
can last from 15 minutes to 15 hours
Please
note that if you are in severe pain and your attack symptoms are
accompanied by a fever DO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.
This
gallbladder cleanse takes 4 days
and is simple and inexpensive.
You will need 4 gallons of apple juice (or enough apples to juice on
your own to make 4 gallons). 4 gallons of distilled water, 1/2
c extra virgin olive oil, 3 lemons (or enough to make 1/4 cup lemon
juice).
Each
day for 4 days you drink up to 1 gallon of apple juice and up to 1
gallon of distilled water. During this time you should make
sure that you have extra time to rest and not do any hard physical
work.
Each
morning or evening, do an enema to help remove toxins that settle
in the colon.
The
third night, when you
are ready for bed, drink 1/2 cup of virgin olive oil and 1/4 cup of
fresh squeezed lemon juice. I mixed them together and it was much
easier to get down. Don't gulp it, take about 10 to 20 minutes
to drink it and you shouldn't have much if any nausea. Go
directly to bed and lie down on your right side.
You may change your position after 4 or 5 hours. If you choose
to, you can repeat this on the fourth night also, but it is not
necessary.
On
the fifth
day, begin eating food slowly.
It will take 3 or 4 days before for your digestive system will be
ready for a normal diet. For 3 or 4 days following the fast, eat
plenty of raw
fruits
and
vegetables and
drink
unsweetened juices to
restart the digestive mechanisms. Fruits are easiest to digest. On
the second day after the cleanse, a simple
vegetable soup with
plenty of broth is good. The soup that I use after my cleansing
program is the
Sacred
Heart Diet soup.
I
don't do the whole diet, I just like the soup recipe.
I
have a friend who owned a health food store and she told me about
this cleanse. I also checked on the internet and there are
several variations to this same cleanse. My friend also told me
that one of her clients who does this gall bladder cleanse on a
regular basis takes 1 Tbs of Olive oil and 1 Tbs of lemon juice every
night of the cleanse to soften the gall stones. I did it that
way when I did the cleanse and I really liked the way it helped to
cleaned me out.
If
you have diabetes or hypoglycemia, this may not be a good program for
you.
There
is another Gallbladder cleanse that was created by Dr.Hulda Regehr
Clark. She wrote the book "The
Cure of All Diseases".
Her cleanse takes less time, but because it cleanses you so fast,
there can be more discomfort. Sometimes we need to make a
choice between 'fast' and 'comfortable'. It is always good to
have choices.

KIDNEY
CLEANSE
Every
day, a person’s kidneys process about 200 quarts of blood to sift
out about 2 quarts of waste products and extra water. The wastes and
extra water become urine.
Wastes
in the blood come from the normal breakdown of toxins from active
muscles and tissues, and from food. After the body has taken the
nutrition that it needs from the food we eat, the wastes are sent to
the blood. If the kidneys can not remove the waste, it would
build up in the blood and damage the body.
The
kidneys perform a wide range of vital functions in the
healthy body:
Removes
wastes and water from the blood
Balances
chemicals in your body and Releases hormones
Helps
to control blood pressure and produce red blood cells
Produces
vitamin D, which keeps the bones strong and healthy
Acid
- Base balance (excretes alkaline salts)
Helps
balance Fluids and Electrolytes
Here
are a few signs of poor kidney health and kidney stone symptoms
Lower
back pain, kidney pain, and edema (water retention).
It
takes a lot of liquid to "wash" the inside of your body.
Taking it in the form of juice or herbal teas can give you some
extra benefits and enjoyment, especially if you need to produce a
gallon of urine a day!
There
are hundreds of herbal recipes, and many different homeopathic
remedies used for cleansing kidney stones.
Corn-silk
tea is great single herb for increasing urine flow and restoring the
kidneys.
Parsley
leaves and root tea is commonly used for kidney cleanse
Parsley
seeds are also diuretics, and are used for dissolving kidney stones
Juice
fasting (vegetable juices) is used for cleansing kidneys
Lemonade
diet also known as the MASTER
CLEANSE,
is also commonly used for a Kidney
cleanse
The
following cleanse I received from Shirlynn Watson, who studied for
many years with her Uncle Dr. Stan Malstrom N.D., M.T. He wrote
the book "Own Your Own Body".
Kidney
stones can be softened by apple juice and lemon juice. For the
first 3 days just drink apple juice. On the 4th
day drink lemon juice and distilled water on the hour, and only
distilled water on the half hour. You can do this for about five to
seven days (If you are not sick or extremely fatigued.) On the
last day mix 3 to 4 oz of lemon juice with 3 to 4 oz of olive
oil and drink it slowly to throw the kidneys and liver into spasm,
which will help flush out the stones.
Most
people with hypoglycemia can handle the apple juice in this
fast. But if you are one of the few who cannot, there is an
alternative. For gall stones or kidney stones you can follow this
program for up to 10 days, (again, BE WISE). Each morning,
about an hour before breakfast, drink 2 to 3 ounces of olive
oil, 2 to 3 ounces of mineral water in grape juice. At the end of
10 days, continue the mineral water and grape juice, omitting
the olive oil, for the liver will be over-saturated.
After
a fast of a few days for stones, hot compresses or clay packs
over the kidneys or the gall bladder may be used to help to pull the
toxins. Enemas are always an essential part of a fast to keep
the colon moving, and in assisting stone removal.
If
there are no kidney stones, water
is
enough to cleanse the kidneys. Your body is made up of mostly water.
It is in every tissue and every cell. Water
is
necessary for
biological processes such as circulation, digestion, absorption, and
excretion. It is the foundation for maintaining healthy muscles,
blood and lymph, and younger looking skin. It is impossible to
function without it.
The
key to clean kidneys and over all health, is to drink
plenty of water, juice, and herbal teas along
with a proper diet.
